We are currently experiencing delays with sourcing products & parts from overseas. This is primarily due to COVID-related disruptions to global shipping lines, compounded with congestion at key New Zealand ports.
As a result we are seeing delays of up to 4 – 6 weeks to source parts from our European suppliers.
Our customers rely on us to keep their operations running smoothly. We work across a range of different heating system formats, so jobs often require highly specific parts. At first instance we may have your part in stock at a local Tubman Heating branch. If not, we will need to source the part from overseas.
If you’re experiencing any issues with your system, we encourage you to contact us as early as possible so that we can order any required parts sooner than later and minimise disruption to your business.

Tubman Heating Limited believes that its workers, employees or contractors, should not be harmed due to any process undertaken on behalf of the company. To achieve this, we have developed a comprehensive system of processes designed to keep our workers free from harm.
To test the voracity of our systems, we have undertaken prequalification via IMPAC, a world-class provider of workplace health and safety solutions. IMPAC helps businesses to improve their systems and processes surrounding health & safety and compliance. They provide a full range of health and safety services — consulting and advice, training, safety management software, and contractor pre-qualification.
Over recent years we have managed to improve our IMPAC prequalification mark from 40% to 90%.
One of the primary aims of any business is to keep its workers safe. The owners of Tubman Heating are proud to announce that recently the business achieved 5 stars in the Prequalification Safety Audit completed by IMPAC, the highest possible ranking. This means that we have put in place the necessary steps to reduce harm from any tasks undertaken by our workers.
We want our staff, contractors, sub-contractors, clients, suppliers and visitors to go home at the end of each day able to do what-ever they enjoy. Something every business should strive for!
In preparation for the Covid-19 lockdown period, many suppliers helped us enormously. We had just two days to move our Auckland branch from Target Road to 11 Canaveral Drive, Rosedale; this was a task we had allocated 7 days for! Amongst them were:
- Auckland Racking and Shelving Solutions
- Discount bins
- Northern forklifts
- Waste Management
- Smart Express
- Speedy signs
- The Security Company
In addition, the Directors would like to say a special “thank you” to all Tubman Heating staff. You have been amazing!
Where are you with your heating system?
Perhaps this isn’t obvious but it’s a good time of year to think about whether your commercial or industrial heating system is up to scratch.
If your boiler is more than 20 years old, it may need replacement and in any event, it will benefit from regular servicing.
Tubman Heating can help you with both. For nearly 40 years we have been working with industry to maximise heating system effectiveness by installing new steam boilers, hot water boilers, and hot oil boilers. By replacing pipework and other associated equipment, repairing or replacing heat exchangers and changing fuels where a more energy-efficient and/or more eco-friendly option is available.
There is a variety of fuels used to fire boilers: natural gas, LPG, diesel, coal and other solid fuels (eg: wood pellets). The fuel decision is complex as it involves considerations such as proximity to supply, available space to store fuel, reducing emissions and health and safety around the boiler house. The government is keen to make sure that there are no coal boilers operating in NZ.
If you’d like a review of your heating assets, please get in touch before the end of February. This will allow time for any remedial action to occur before the “heating season” starts, usually during May.
In closing we’d like to wish you a very happy Christmas and offer our best wishes for a bright and successful 2020.

Boilers and burners are a central component of many commercial and industrial hot water heating systems.
Over time they get hammered by hot temperatures, high pressure systems, chemical imbalances, improper servicing and so on which cost businesses time and money.
So……is it time to upgrade your heating system?
Here are some issues to look at when reviewing your heating system:
- Does your system have constant leaks? They can happen any time! There are many causes for leaks, including worn gaskets, incorrectly tightened valves, sub-standard welding and so on. Leaks can be costly, affect health & safety, and create little or massive amounts of damage to your assets.
- Are your utilities bills on the rise? If you’re noticing higher than usual utility costs, your boiler could be to blame. It may not be operating at full capacity and requires repairs to get its performance back on track. As technology advances, new boilers are increasing in efficiency. Your boiler may be out-of-date enough to cause much higher energy costs than a new machine would incur, then a boiler upgrade could be a cost-effective choice.
- Are there loud banging noises? Boilers, burners and pipe work can be loud at times but shouldn’t be banging. Pipe work might not be stabilized, a blockage might occur, or pressure building up. These noises could be a sign of faulty equipment and should be considered for upgrading a replacement.
